Our dedicated team brings together years of experience and a genuine passion for patient care—some of our staff members have been with us for over 30 years. We offer both male and female dentists, all accredited members of the Australian Dental Association. Each clinician is trained across a wide range of general dentistry services and remains up to date with the latest techniques through ongoing professional development courses and seminars.

Dr Raymond Montag
Director • BDSC (Melb) FRACDS
Ray graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1985 and joined South Melbourne Dental Group in 1994. His interests include fixed orthodontics, dental implant rehabilitation, cosmetic and general dentistry, and he continues to undertake professional development.
Dr Barry Abrahams
Director • BDSC (Wits)
Barry graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1985 and has been part of South Melbourne Dental Group for 25 years. He enjoys general family dentistry, with a focus on helping patients improve and maintain their dental health, and outside dentistry enjoys running, cycling, swimming and camping.
Dr Avron Lapidus
Director • BDS (Wits) MBA (Wits) ADC
Avron has more than 30 years’ experience in general dental practice. He graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand with a Bachelor of Dental Science and Master of Business Administration, and completed the Australian Dental Council examinations in 2003. Avron joined SMDG in 2007 and enjoys all aspects of general dentistry.
Dr Adrian Dang
Director • BDSC (Melb)
Adrian graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2011 and has practised at SMDG ever since. His interests include implant, cosmetic and digital dentistry. Between 2016 and 2022 he organised annual volunteer trips to rural Vietnam to provide dental care to disadvantaged children. Outside of work, he enjoys photography and spending time with his family.
Dr Alex Zelmanovich
Director • BDS (James Cook Uni)
Alex graduated from James Cook University and joined South Melbourne Dental Group in 2017. His interests include orthodontics, braces and aligners, and implant dentistry, with a particular focus on making patients of all ages feel comfortable, especially those experiencing dental anxiety.
Dr Nadia Dobromilsky
BDSC (Adel) · Former ADA President (Tas) · ADA Board Member (Melb) · President Evident
Nadia graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2004 and worked in Tasmania before joining SMDG in 2011. She enjoys treating paediatric patients and remains actively involved in the dental profession. Nadia is a former President of the Tasmanian branch of the Australian Dental Association and was inducted into the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
Dr Michelle Mun

Michelle graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2015. She joined South Melbourne Dental Group in 2022. She has special interests in surgical procedures, implants and digital dentistry. Michelle is an active contributor to the dental field and has lectured and developed curriculum at the University of Melbourne, presenting research internationally. Outside of dentistry, Michelle has diverse creative pursuits and enjoys spending time with her family.
Dr Alex Nguyen

Alex completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Melbourne in 2019. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry and takes a gentle, compassionate approach to patient care, with a focus on ensuring every patient feels comfortable and well supported. Outside the clinic, Alex enjoys keeping active, playing netball and following sport.
Dr Sarah Cheong

Sarah completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne and a Master of Dentistry at La Trobe University. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry, with particular interests in restorative and aesthetic dentistry, and takes a gentle, communicative approach with both adult and paediatric patients. Outside dentistry, Sarah enjoys AFL, futsal, soccer, playing the piano and musical theatre.
Dr Emma Chae

Emma completed a Bachelor of Dental Health Science and Master of Dentistry at Griffith University, followed by experience in public and private practice across Queensland. Her interests include preventive and restorative dentistry, endodontics and fixed prosthodontics, and she is known for her thorough, gentle approach and clear communication.
Dr Lisa Peng

Lisa graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Dentistry and Master of Dentistry. Having spent her fair share of time in the dental chair, she strives to make each visit comfortable through her gentle approach and clear communication. Outside dentistry, Lisa enjoys baking, crafting and spending time with her dogs.
