We are hosting a cocktail event to raise funding for our annual Vietnam dental volunteering trip.

The Vietnam dental volunteering project has a long running history of over 20 years. Volunteers, all of whom are self-funded, travel to Vietnam annually in March and work in conjunction with rural communities to provide free dental treatment to school-aged children. The project also aims to help develop the local public dental services through training of local staff and donation of equipment and materials.

Funds raised from the night will be used to purchase and maintain equipment, consumables, transport for the children to and from the schools as well as local transport for the team to and from the rural towns where we will be working in Vietnam.

You can purchase tickets from the Facebook page:

Or via eventbrite.com.au:

We hope to see you there.

Adair is one of many longstanding patients of SMDG since 1980. She has a keen interest in technology and always comes to her appointment rocking the latest and greatest in tech gadgetry (she receives all her appointment reminders via her smart watch). Despite her gentle nature she enjoys rock and heavy metal music; she even brought her own Bluetooth boombox speakers to her last appointment because our speakers weren’t loud enough.

Introducing Dr Sarah Braun, our long-standing former dental nurse now dentist. Inspired by the many staff at SMDG, Sarah went on to complete her masters degree in dentistry at Melbourne University during which time she was still dental nursing at numerous practices. Sarah never forgot her roots and decided to return to where it all began at SMDG, much to our delight. We are thrilled to have her on board.

Sarah is available Tuesday and Friday’s by appointment.

We regret to announce the passing of Dr Derek Braham. Derek was one of the founding partners of South Melbourne Dental Group having moved his practice from Ringwood in 1970 to join his great friend Dr Alex Ivanyi and remained in South Melbourne until his retirement in 2005. He was very fond of his work, the staff and patients at SMDG. His passion was obvious and he was well liked. Many of his patients would remember his sharp wit and fondness of gardening and golf. We would like to extend our sincere condolences to his family. Rest in peace Derek. ... See MoreSee Less
